This homemade chili sauce recipe is so delicious and easy to make. The ingredient list is delightfully simple and this recipe only requires one pot and two steps! But what can you do with homemade chili sauce, you say? There are so many ways to use it. You can use it as a marinade, a dip, or to add flavor to your favorite soup or chili recipe. Ingredients Needed
- 8 oz tomato sauce
- 3 tablespoon brown Sugar
- 2 tablespoon hot sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon allspice
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
How to make homemade chili sauce
Step 1: Add all of the ingredients into a small pot and stir to combine. Turn the heat to medium and bring the sauce to a simmer.
Step 2: Simmer for 5 minutes and then allow to cool. Serve and enjoy!
Recipe Tips for the Best Homemade Chili Sauce
- I used Tabasco hot sauce as my hot sauce of choice.
- You can replace the hot sauce with chili powder if you’d prefer. In that case, use 1-2 teaspoon instead of 1-2 tbsp
- Some recipes include cloves, cinnamon, or nutmeg, which would be delicious options too!
- For a different sugar option, you can use brown coconut sugar if desired.
