I love that tea is a universal comfort drink. Hearing the word tea immediately soothes my holistic nutritionist and herb-loving, soul. It also makes me want to get cozy and read a good book or put on a Jude Law movie (if you know, you know). This ginger tea recipe is not only easy, it’s healthy, and so delicious.
Recipe Ingredients
2 cups water
1 inch fresh Ginger, sliced
1 lemon, sliced (optional)
How To Make Ginger Tea
Step 1: Add the water into a small pot on the stove over medium-high heat. Add the sliced ginger into the pot.
Step 2: Bring the water to a boil. Reduce the heat and allow the water to simmer, uncovered, for 5-10 minutes (the longer the water simmers, the stronger the tea will be).
Step 3: Once the tea has simmered, pour it through a sieve and remove the ginger slices.
Step 4: Pour into two separate glasses and garnish with lemon slices if desired. Enjoy!

Expert Tips & Tricks
- You do not have to peel the ginger if you don’t want to. In that case, rinse and scrub the outside of the ginger. It can then be boiled.
- You can peel the ginger if you’d like.
- If you have small pieces of the ginger peel you want to strain out of the tea, you can also pour the tea through a cheesecloth.
