Ingredients

  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon allspice
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  • Add all of the ingredients into a small pot and stir to combine. Turn the heat to medium and bring the sauce to a simmer.
  • Simmer for 5 minutes and then allow to cool. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • I used Tabasco hot sauce as my hot sauce of choice.
  • You can replace the hot sauce with chili powder if you’d prefer. In that case, use 1-2 teaspoon instead of 1-2 tbsp
  • Some recipes include cloves, cinnamon, or nutmeg, which would be delicious options too!
  • For a different sugar option, you can use brown coconut sugar if desired.
