Hemp Milk Recipe

This hemp milk recipe is nutritious, delicious, creamy, easy to make, and has no added sugars or thickeners. Hemp milk is a plant-based milk made from hemp seed and water. It’s a popular alternative to dairy milk because it’s nutritious, plant-based, and can be consumed by those with a tree nut allergy. If you make your own you can add any natural sweetener you prefer - in this recipe I use maple syrup and it’s *perfection*.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup hemp hearts (shelled hemp seeds)
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup (If you’d like sweeter milk, you can add more maple syrup. Alternatively, you could use a pitted date as a sweetener.)

Instructions

  • In a blender or food processor, add the hemp hearts, water, and maple syrup.
  • Blend on high for 1-2 minutes until the hemp is blended into the water and the mixture is creamy.
  • If you’d like a very smooth hemp milk, you can strain the mixture through a cheesecloth. Serve and enjoy!
