Ingredients

  • 14 oz medium beets (weighed, without leaves or peels) (washed, peeled, and cut into eighths)
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  • Add the beets into the blender along with ½ cup of water.
  • Run the blender for 3-5 minutes, until the beets are completely broken down and the mixture is in a slushy-like consistency. If you need to add more water to get the right texture, you can do so!
  • Place a colander over a bowl. Then line the colander with cheesecloth. Pour the beet juice into the colander, using the cheesecloth to catch any large pieces. Strain the juice until just the beet juice is left in the bowl below.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can squeeze the cheesecloth to remove as much beet juice as possible.
  • You may want to add some flavorings to the beetroot juice for more flavoring. Good additions would be apple juice, carrot juice, orange juice, ginger juice, or anything else that sounds good.
  • The more water you add, the more watered down the juice will be. Add enough water that the beet pulp makes a slushy-like consistency, but don’t add too much or you will dilute the flavor.
