Instructions
In a medium pot, add the frozen berries, honey, and lemon juice. Stir until combined. Heat over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes, or until the berries begin to release juice and the liquid begins to boil.
Allow the liquid to boil for about 5 minutes, until the compote thickens slightly.
Remove from heat and serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!
Notes
You can use fresh fruit if you’d prefer. Fresh berries and stone fruits are good options. You may only have to heat the fruit for 5 minutes before it releases juice.
You can replace the honey with maple syrup or granulated sugar for a vegan option.
Use fresh lemon juice if possible.
