I’ve decided caprese is one of my favorite foods to eat. Truly, you cannot beat the combo of tomatoes, basil, and cheese. It’s light and fresh, and leaves you satisfied. But you know what’s even better? When you put it on bread and turn it into a caprese bagel with burrata. That’s when the angels start singing the Hallelujah Chorus and you know you’ve done something fantastic for your bagel sandwich game. Some people might even call it bae goals.
The burrata gives it a creamy and smooth texture, but you have to make sure that bagel is toasted! That is essential. I like to top mine with small slices of tomatoes and basil, sprinkled with salt and pepper. Feel free to give it a good splash of Balsamic vinegar too for an extra kick.
Before I go, do you want to hear a wonderfully cheesy bagel joke? Okay, here it goes…
What do you call a seagull that lives on the bay? A bagel! (Baygull.)
Thank goodness for the internet keeping me supplied with bad food jokes at all times. Grab the super simple recipe for this caprese bagel below, and enjoy!
